The Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) is launching a renewed call for awareness regarding the protection of seas and beaches in Greece. Highlighting successful past initiatives, including beach clean-ups involving scouts and students, HELMEPA invites citizens to participate in these volunteer efforts. The organization has coordinated various national and international clean-up initiatives, providing support and data collection to combat marine litter pollution. This year, volunteers collected over 21 tons of waste, showing significant participation despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.
