Historical Records of WWII Collaborators in the Netherlands Now Accessible Online

The Netherlands has made the names of approximately 425,000 suspected collaborators with Nazi occupiers during World War II available online. However, this move has sparked unease among descendants of these individuals and victims’ families. While a complete archive of related documents is not yet accessible online, they can be reviewed at the National Archive in The Hague. A recent survey indicates that many Dutch citizens still prefer not to have descendants of collaborators in public office roles, revealing ongoing sensitivity around this historical issue.
