On December 8, 2024, the Municipality of Kastoria held a tribute event for Lazaros Kyrizoglou, the President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece and Mayor of Ampelokipi-Menemenis, recognizing his 42 years of service in local government. Kastoria’s Mayor, Giannis Korentsidis, presented Kyrizoglou with a plaque for his significant contributions, while Kyrizoglou expressed his gratitude and shared insights on Alexandros Papadiamantis during his speech.
