After a cargo ship lost hundreds of thousands of Lego pieces off the coast of England in 1997, notable finds have emerged this year, including the first-ever reported Lego shark. Tracey Williams, who leads the Lego Lost at Sea project, noted an increase in discovered Lego pieces, emphasizing the educational aim of the project concerning ocean plastic pollution. Notably, a teenager found a Lego black octopus and two dragons, while other fishermen reported finding significant numbers of Lego parts from the spill, which continues to affect marine environments.
