Hunger Crisis in Sudan Worsens Amid Ongoing Conflict
Since April 2023, Sudan has been gripped by a violent power struggle, leading to a catastrophic hunger crisis affecting over 24 million people. The UN reports that more than 600,000 individuals are in famine conditions, with predictions of further hunger outbreaks in multiple areas. The ongoing conflict, primarily between Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has severely hindered access to food and humanitarian aid, exacerbating the situation as more than half of the Sudanese population faces acute food insecurity.
