Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has sharply criticized both Israel and Hamas for their lack of political will in cooperating with humanitarian efforts in Gaza. Highlighting the dire situation for civilians and the risks facing ICRC staff, she emphasized the organization’s inability to publicly address potential war crimes without risking expulsion from Gaza. Additionally, she condemned Swiss National Council’s decision to cut development aid while asserting the importance of humanitarian support. Spoljaric called for a coalition of states to prioritize civilian protection and uphold humanitarian law.
