IDA Ireland Reports Decline in Job Projects for 2024, Yet Strong Growth in Multinational Employment

IDA Ireland announced a reduction in secured job projects for 2024, with 234 projects expected to create 13,500 jobs, down from 248 projects and 19,000 jobs in 2023. Despite this, employment in IDA client companies reached 302,566, marking a growth in Ireland’s multinational workforce. The agency highlighted strong regional development, with 59% of foreign direct investment flowing outside Dublin, and noted substantial research and development investments. Job growth was observed in various sectors, although the ICT sector experienced a decline.
