LGBTQ+ populations in Greece face significant stigma, discrimination, and healthcare inequalities. The ATHENA study aims to assess healthcare professionals’ knowledge and attitudes toward LGBTQ+ health needs and provide targeted training to close the knowledge gap. Funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU and supported by the International University of Greece, the study will host free seminars in Thessaloniki and Athens to educate midwives on gender equality and reproductive rights for LGBTQ+ individuals.
