Inauguration of High-Speed Train Service Linking Paris and Berlin
For the first time, Paris and Berlin will be directly connected by high-speed rail. The inaugural service will feature one train per day in each direction, with the first departure from Paris scheduled for 9:55 AM. The service aims to enhance rail travel in Europe and is backed by SNCF and Deutsche Bahn. The journey is expected to take approximately eight hours, significantly reducing travel time compared to current options. Environmental benefits of rail travel are emphasized, with much lower CO2 emissions than air travel.
