Inauguration of Thessaloniki Metro Line Set for November 30
The Thessaloniki Metro’s main line, which has uncovered 300,000 archaeological findings and cost €3 billion, is set to open on November 30. Infrastructure Minister Christos Staikouras announced that the modern metro will include 13 stations and serve approximately 250,000 passengers daily, enhancing urban transportation. The project faced numerous challenges, but its completion is crucial for the city’s residents and visitors. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will officiate the opening, providing free rides to the public for an initial period.
