Starting December 22, 2023, consultation fees for general practitioners in France will rise from €26.50 to €30, with specialists seeing increases from €56.50 to €60. This long-awaited price adjustment follows a June agreement between health insurers and private physicians, aimed at addressing inflation and making general practice more attractive. New tariffs will also incorporate a compensation structure for managing elderly and chronic patients. The changes come with a cost of €1.6 billion to the national health insurance, accompanied by performance targets for physicians.
