Increasing Pollution from Flufenacet Herbicide Raises Concerns in France
Recent reports from Le Monde highlight disturbing pollution levels in France and parts of Europe caused by the widespread use of the herbicide flufenacet, which has been linked to harmful effects as an endocrine disruptor. Despite warnings from the European Food Safety Authority and calls for its ban since 2013, flufenacet remains prevalent in the market, with its use in France nearly doubling to about 900 tons annually. The ongoing reliance on this chemical raises significant environmental and health concerns.
