Inflation in France Remains Steady at 1.3% in December 2023

Consumer prices in France increased by 1.3% in December year-on-year, unchanged from November, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee). While energy prices experienced a slight rebound, this was offset by falling prices for manufactured goods and stable food prices. Looking ahead, inflation is expected to slow further in 2025, with predictions of a 1.6% increase for the year, reflecting a significant drop from post-war Ukraine inflation spikes.
