Inflation in Greece Eases Slightly Amid Eurozone Trends
Inflation in Greece decreased marginally to 2.9% in December from 3.0% in November, according to Eurostat. In contrast, the Eurozone saw an increase in annual inflation to 2.4%. Major contributors to inflation included services and food, alcohol, and tobacco. Germany’s inflation rose above expectations to 2.9%, while France’s rose to 1.8%. Croatia reported the highest annual inflation rate at 4.5%, while Ireland saw the lowest at 1%.
