Academic and research institutions have embarked on a project across the Ionian Islands to create a detailed soil map, funded by the Region and the European Union. The initiative, discussed by Deputy Regional Governor Spyros Ioannou, aims to catalog soil resources, assess soil vulnerability and fertility, and evaluate geo-hazards. It involves on-site sampling in all regional units, establishing a valuable database for future agricultural planning and ecological studies.
