Intense Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah in Lebanon Amid Calls for Ceasefire
On Saturday, the Israeli military conducted extensive airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in southern and eastern Lebanon, including an area near Beirut’s airport. The strikes followed the proposal of a 60-day ceasefire by U.S. officials to Lebanese leaders. The bombardments resulted in multiple casualties, including six deaths in eastern Lebanon and two emergency responders in the south. Hezbollah retaliated with rocket fire into northern Israel, claiming to have damaged an Israeli tank. The ongoing conflict has left 48 Israeli soldiers dead since September 30.
