Interlaken will not host the Eidgenössisches Musikfest (EMF) 2026 because of high financial risks, with potential losses exceeding 700,000 Swiss francs. The festival, organized by the Swiss Brass Band Association and expected to attract around 30,000 musicians and attendees, is now searching for a new venue. EMF President Luana Menoud-Baldi emphasizes the need for a music festival, with 400 associations already registered. A new location is anticipated to be announced by the end of the year, as previous attempts were also thwarted by the pandemic.
