International Flights Resuming at Damascus International Airport Following Assad’s Ouster

International flights to and from Damascus International Airport will resume on Tuesday after a suspension due to the fall of Bashar al-Assad on December 8. Syrian Civil Aviation Authority head Ashkhan al-Salibi announced the restoration phase for airports in Aleppo and Damascus, allowing flights from around the world. Syrian Airlines will restart routes to Dubai, while Qatar Airways will also resume flights after nearly 13 years. Humanitarian flights have already begun arriving in Syria.
