International Flights to Damascus Resume After Suspension

International flights to and from Damascus will resume on January 7, following a suspension due to rebel control. Syrian news agency Sana reported that efforts are underway to rehabilitate airports in Aleppo and Damascus to facilitate global travel. Qatar Airways will be among the first to resume flights after a 13-year hiatus. This change follows the first flight since the departure of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, which occurred shortly after the rebel coalition took control.
