The Municipality of Ioannina has joined the European project ‘METRONOMOS’, which aims to promote sustainable development and climate neutrality with a budget of €1 million. In collaboration with the National Observatory of Athens and other partners, the project focuses on improving energy efficiency in buildings, promoting electric mobility, and reducing pollution. Mayor Thomas Begkas emphasized the city’s enhanced status at the European level, while Deputy Mayor Thomas Giotitsas noted that Ioannina and Kozani will serve as models for the transformation of European cities.
