Iran Allegedly Plotted Assassination of Donald Trump Ahead of Election
The U.S. Justice Department has revealed that Iran allegedly orchestrated a plan to assassinate former President Donald Trump in retaliation for the 2020 killing of General Qassem Soleimani. An indictment claims a 51-year-old Iranian national, currently in Iran, was tasked with formulating the plot. FBI Director Christopher Wray emphasized this as a part of Iran’s continued threats against U.S. citizens. The U.S. has charged three individuals regarding the conspiracy, amid Trump’s campaign team expressing concerns over credible threats linked to Iran. Justice Secretary Merrick Garland condemned the Iranian regime’s actions against American security.
