Iran’s foreign ministry has called for an arms embargo against Israel and its expulsion from the United Nations following recent airstrikes in Syria that resulted in the deaths of nine individuals, including a senior Hezbollah official. The strikes, targeting Iranian-backed forces near Damascus, have intensified since Israel’s open conflict with Hezbollah began on September 23. Iran condemned the ‘barbaric attack’ and urged the international community to take action against Israel, which has launched hundreds of strikes in Syria since the onset of the Syrian Civil War in 2011.
