Ireland Secures Long-Range Government Jet to Enhance Transport Capabilities
The Irish Department of Defence has finalized a deal for a French-made Falcon 6X long-range government jet, costing around €53 million, with delivery expected by December 2025. This aircraft, which can travel over 5,000 nautical miles, will replace the problematic Learjet and is intended for a variety of missions including medical evacuations and logistical support. The new plane is set to support Ireland’s obligations during its EU Presidency in 2026 and will be operated by the Irish Air Corps from Casement Aerodrome.
