Ireland’s Defence Department Secures New Long-Range Falcon 6X Government Jet

The Department of Defence of Ireland has signed a contract to purchase a French-made Falcon 6X jet for approximately €53 million, expected to be delivered by December 2025. The long-range aircraft, capable of flying over 5,000 nautical miles, aims to replace the problematic Learjet. Tánaiste Micheál Martin highlighted its significance in enhancing the State’s transport capabilities, with uses ranging from medical evacuations to logistical support for overseas missions. The Falcon 6X will be operated by the Irish Air Corps from Casement Aerodrome.
