Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel will maintain security control over the Gaza Strip following the defeat of Hamas. Recent airstrikes have resulted in around 20 casualties, including children, during an attack on a former school, according to Palestinian sources. The Israeli military asserted it targeted a Hamas command center operating from within a humanitarian zone. Since October 7, 2023, ongoing operations against Hamas have reportedly led to approximately 45,000 Palestinian casualties.
