Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Hezbollah of failing to respect the terms of the ceasefire agreement, warning that Israel may be forced to act unilaterally. He emphasized that Hezbollah militants have not withdrawn north of the Litani River, approximately 30 kilometers from the Israeli border. The ceasefire, effective since November 27, requires the Lebanese army and UN peacekeepers to deploy in southern Lebanon while Israel should withdraw its forces within 60 days. Both sides have been accusing each other of repeated violations since the ceasefire commenced.
