Israeli Fans Return Home After Attacks in Amsterdam
Following violent incidents involving pro-Palestinian protestors in Amsterdam, Israeli football fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv are being repatriated via special flights. Typically observing the Sabbath, Israeli airlines coordinated four flights on Saturday, allowing roughly 3,000 fans to return home amid rising tensions from the Europa League match against Ajax. Although many were injured, most suffered minor injuries and were released shortly after treatment. Amsterdam’s Mayor announced heightened security measures to protect the Jewish community, while the Dutch government launched an investigation into whether warnings about potential violence were adequately addressed.
