Israeli Forces Withdraw from Southern Lebanon Amid Ceasefire Agreement
Israeli forces have begun withdrawing from a town in southern Lebanon, with the Lebanese military taking over their position as part of a ceasefire deal. U.S. Central Command leader General Erik Kurilla was present during the transition in Al-Khiam. The Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati emphasized this move as essential for strengthening the military’s position in the region. Both the Lebanese Armed Forces and UN peacekeepers are set to deploy in the area, while Hezbollah is also expected to pull back its forces as part of the ceasefire terms.
