Israeli Forces Withdraw from Southern Lebanon as Ceasefire Agreement Takes Shape

Israeli forces have begun withdrawing from Al-Khiam, Lebanon, under a ceasefire deal monitored by US Central Command. The Lebanese Armed Forces are replacing them in a move supported by Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who views this step as crucial for strengthening military presence in southern Lebanon. The agreement also includes operations by UN peacekeepers. The situation follows heightened military activity after Hezbollah’s actions aligned with Hamas during the ongoing conflict in the region, with the ceasefire established on November 27 remaining fragile yet holding.
