A recent investigation by Israeli newspaper Haaretz claims the Israeli Defense Forces are shooting indiscriminately at civilians in a controversial area of Gaza. Soldiers’ anonymous testimonies suggest orders were given to shoot at anyone crossing into the Netzarim corridor. The Israeli army, however, insists it targets only military objectives with precautions to minimize civilian harm. In response, Hamas has called for an investigation by the UN and the International Court of Justice, labeling the soldiers’ accounts as evidence of war crimes.
