Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made his first court appearance on Tuesday in a corruption trial that began four years ago. He dismissed the charges, including fraud and bribery allegations linked to his time as Minister of Communications, as ‘absurd’. The trial is taking place at the Tel Aviv District Court after being moved from Jerusalem for security reasons. The court denied a request for further postponement despite ongoing regional tensions, allowing Netanyahu to take notes on political developments during proceedings. He is expected to testify three times a week for the next two months.
