Italian Government Declares State of Emergency Following Severe Weather Events
The Italian government has declared a 12-month state of emergency in various regions affected by severe weather events in September and October 2024, with financial allocations of nearly 14 million euros directed towards recovery efforts. Additionally, new legislation focused on supporting the fishing industry has been introduced, including measures to enhance employment and provide economic relief. The Minister for Family and Equal Opportunities, Eugenia Roccella, announced plans to create a comprehensive framework to combat violence against women, aiming for completion by International Women’s Day.
