The bill has also sparked international concern, with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty, warning against potential infringements on the rule of law. Senate President Ignazio La Russa dismissed O’Flaherty’s letter as an unacceptable interference in parliamentary affairs.
