Australian actor Jacob Elordi is reportedly in discussions with Ridley Scott to take the lead in the sci-fi film ‘The Dog Stars,’ based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel. Initially, Irish actor Paul Mescal was set to star but chose to work with Sam Mendes on another project. If the deal is finalized, Elordi will portray a U.S. Air Force pilot named Hig, who befriends a former Marine after a global pandemic decimates the population. Production is expected to begin in spring 2025.
