British visual artist Jasleen Kaur was awarded the 2023 Turner Prize for contemporary art for her exhibition titled ‘Alter Altar’, which explores personal, political, and spiritual themes. The Turner Prize, established to honor painter J.M.W. Turner, is given annually to an artist based in the UK. The award includes a cash prize of £25,000. The announcement was made by actor James Norton during a ceremony at Tate Britain in London.
