Iolanda Apostolico, a judge from the Catania Tribunal, has resigned from the judiciary after her request was accepted by the Superior Council of the Judiciary. Her resignation comes after public backlash for her participation in a protest supporting the disembarkation of migrants from the Diciotti ship in 2018 and her decision to not validate the detention of some refugees at Pozzallo’s immigration center, which challenged the government’s ‘Cutro decree’.
