A pair of ruby red slippers worn by Judy Garland in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ has been sold for $28 million at an auction, making them the most valuable movie memorabilia ever sold. Initially expected to sell for just $3 million, the sale comes amidst renewed interest in the musical following the release of ‘Wicked’. The slippers, one of four surviving pairs, are renowned as the ‘Holy Grail of Hollywood memorabilia’.
