Keely Hodgkinson Named BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2024 Following Historic Achievements

Keely Hodgkinson, the Olympic 800m gold medallist, has been awarded BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2024 after an impressive season. The 22-year-old secured her first global title at Paris 2024, successfully defended her European title in Rome, and set a new British record at the London Diamond League. Hodgkinson expressed her shock at the honor and credited her coach for his support. She is the fourth consecutive woman to win the award, following Mary Earps, Beth Mead, and Emma Raducanu. Darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Joe Root finished second and third.
