Kremlin Refutes Divorce Claims of Bashar al-Assad’s Wife

The Kremlin has denied claims that Asma al-Assad, the wife of deposed Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, is seeking a divorce. Reports from Turkish media suggested she wished to leave Russia, where the couple has been granted asylum. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that these reports are untrue and dismissed rumors of severe restrictions on their living conditions in Moscow. British officials, however, reaffirmed that Asma al-Assad remains sanctioned and would not be permitted to return to the UK.
