Kurdish Rights Essential for Peace in the Region, Says Ibrahim Muzlem
Ibrahim Muzlem, a representative of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party, emphasized the need for Kurdish rights to be recognized for lasting peace and security in the region. Speaking on Greek radio, he highlighted historical injustices against the Kurdish people, stemming from the creation of the Turkish state after World War I, and contrasted Kurdish aspirations for a democratic, secular society with Turkey’s nationalist agenda. Muzlem argued that lasting security in the region is impossible without granting rights to the Kurdish population.
