Larissa’s Municipal Animal Shelter Mobilizes for Sterilization Initiative
In Larissa, Greece, over 100 cats and some dogs have been neutered free of charge as part of a collaborative initiative with local volunteers and two German animal protection organizations. Mayor Thanasis Mamakos praised the effort and stressed the importance of how society cares for its pets. Additionally, the municipality is working on a broader sterilization program aiming to neuter 470 cats by year’s end and is constructing the region’s first dog park.
