The Eastern Macedonia-Thrace Environmental Monitoring Observatory in Komotini is set to be established within the first half of 2025. Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis announced this during a council meeting, highlighting secured funding from the Green Fund. The initiative aims to enhance preventive measures for environmental issues, while concerns arose regarding the maintenance support for five weather stations in Rodopi established by Professor Alexandra Gemitzi. The Vice Governor of agricultural economy, Argyrios Patakakis, expressed willingness to collaborate with local associations for effective operations.
