The Regional Development Fund of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is among 46 partners from 16 countries and a UN organization in the ambitious project United Circles, aimed at promoting the circular economy. Funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program, the project seeks to reduce waste production and maximize resource recovery through an industrial-urban symbiotic value chain. Key goals include achieving zero urban waste close to commercial scale and reducing freshwater consumption by 50%. The project commenced with a kickoff meeting in Valladolid, Spain.
