Library of Congress Adds Iconic Films to National Registry

The Library of Congress has announced the addition of notable films including ‘Dirty Dancing’, ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, and ‘The Social Network’ to the National Film Registry. In total, 25 films reflecting the nation’s history and culture will be preserved, as emphasized by Librarian Carla Hayden. This initiative, supported by the National Film Preservation Board, underscores the film community’s collective effort to maintain cultural heritage. To date, the National Film Registry includes 900 films.
