Licenses have been granted for hydroports in Kastoria and three other lakes in Western Macedonia, allowing seaplanes to land. This development follows a long-awaited licensing process initiated by the region, with significant investment interest cited. Regional Governor Giorgos Amanatidis emphasized the importance of leveraging the institutional framework for hydroports to boost the region’s economy and promote responsible environmental and spatial planning.
