Life Expectancy Without Disability in France Shows Steady Increase Since 2008

A recent study by the Directorate for Research, Studies, and Statistics (Drees) reveals a steady increase in ‘healthy life expectancy’ in France, with women reaching 77 years and men 75.5 years in 2023. The study highlights that life expectancy without disability at age 65 has grown faster than overall life expectancy since 2008. Additionally, France’s healthy life expectancy surpasses the European average by 2 years and 6 months for women and 1 year and 4 months for men.
