Recent investigations have uncovered connections between Abdoullakh Anzorov, the assassin of French teacher Samuel Paty, and Farrouk Faizimtov, a propagandist for the extremist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). Documents reveal Anzorov communicated with Faizimtov, who was active in propaganda efforts from Idlib, Syria, shortly before the assassination. Faizimtov, originally from Tajikistan, utilized social media platforms to promote anti-French sentiments, particularly in response to a controversial caricature. These links raise concerns about the influence of extremist groups on individual acts of violence.
