Maarten ‘t Hart has been awarded the P.C. Hooftprijs for his exceptional body of narrative prose. The 80-year-old author expressed surprise but great joy at receiving what he calls ‘the finest award in the Netherlands.’ The jury praised ‘t Hart’s mastery of dialogue and called him an erudite novelist, highlighting his impactful and engaging writing style.
