Major Cocaine Bust on Spanish Fishing Vessel in Tahiti

On December 23, over 500 kg of cocaine and €8,000 in cash were seized from a Spanish fishing vessel named Raymi in Tahiti. The French Navy’s Bougainville arrested the ship, revealing eleven bales containing 524 kg of cocaine. Fourteen crew members were detained. This operation was part of international cooperation involving the French Gendarmerie’s anti-drug office and the Australian Federal Police. The Raymi was escorted to Papeete, where an investigation has commenced under the local prosecutor’s authority.
