The Forest Directorate of Lesvos has initiated a substantial project for forest road maintenance and wildfire zones, alongside actions aimed at clearing forests and managing pine disease. In 2024, the budget for these initiatives is set at €9.5 million with an additional €5 million allocated for 2025. Director Fotios Krallis highlighted specific forest areas targeted for intervention, ensuring continued efforts to maintain and improve the local ecosystem.
